Hillsong United Performs ‘Oceans’ on the Sea of Galilee

Hillsong United Performs ‘Oceans’ on the Sea of Galilee, Where Jesus First ‘Called Peter Out on the Water’
-

Hillsong United, the Australia-based worship group, recently traveled to the Holy Land to perform many of their songs in the actual places where the inspirational stories happened. The new project is called, “Of Dirt and Grace: Live from the Land” and was filmed in Jerusalem and the surrounding area.
The lyrics of the popular song “Oceans” are based on the story of Peter walking on the water, recorded in Matthew 14:22-33:
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Watch this emotional performance of “Oceans” right where Jesus first called Peter out on the waters. What is Jesus calling you to today?

Concerns Raised After ‘Gay Marriage’ Supporter Carrie Underwood Sings at Passion Conference

Concerns Raised After ‘Gay Marriage’ Supporter Carrie Underwood Sings at Passion Conference

Concerns are being raised by a prominent pro-family organization after country music star Carrie Underwood, who has expressed her support for same-sex “marriage” and attends a church that allows practicing homosexuals to serve in ministry, recently appeared at a major Christian conference attended by tens of thousands of college-age youth.

The American Family Association (AFA) has penned an open letter to Louie Giglio, leader of the annual Passion Conference and pastor of Atlanta’s Passion City Church, to express concern about Underwood’s participation in the event held January 2-4 at the Atlanta Dome.

The yearly conference regularly features worship music from artists such as Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill and Crowder, as well as Bible teaching from speakers like Giglio and Francis Chan. This year, Underwood, who had not been advertised as a guest, took the stage with Crowder near the end of the performance of the song “Lift Your Head Weary Sinner,” and also led the tune “Something in the Water.”

“Louie, if I can be completely transparent, I was very frustrated that you would allow [Underwood] to help lead thousands of people in worship. My frustration quickly turned to disappointment and then to sadness,” wrote AFA Director of Outreach, Wesley Wildmon.

“With the many Christian artists who believe and teach the full counsel of God’s Word available to lead worship at Passion, why would you choose one who publicly states homosexuality is not a sin?” he asked. “Your approval gives thousands of unsaved or weak Millennials an untruthful image of what the Bible says about marriage.”

Wildmon clarified that he isn’t saying that Underwood should be shunned altogether, but that her public remarks should give reason for pause to provide a platform to someone that supports an unbiblical view of marriage.

“It should go without saying, but I will say it anyway: her denial of God’s Word should not keep you from being friends and encouraging her, but it should give you hesitance in inviting her to partner with your ministry,” he wrote.

As previously reported, Underwood, who attends GracePointe Church in Nashville with her husband Mike Fisher, announced in 2012 that she supports same-sex “marriage.”

“As a married person myself, I don’t know what it’s like to be told I can’t marry somebody I love, and want to marry,” she told The Independent. “I can’t imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love.”

“Our church is gay friendly,” Underwood continued. “Above all, God wanted us to love others. It’s not about setting rules, or [saying] ‘everyone has to be like me.’ No. We’re all different. That’s what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It’s not up to me to judge anybody.”

She also criticized “people who use the Bible for hate,” remarking, “That’s not how I would want myself as a Christian to be represented.”

In light of her comments, AFA asked that Giglio be more careful about who he invites to the event in the future.

“I am writing to plead with you to consider the clarity of God’s Word on marriage and reflect on it in the artist you choose for next year,” Wildmon said. “It is God who has blessed you with this platform and it is God who can remove His hand of blessing if you become careless with His principles.”

Following her appearance at the Passion Conference this month, Underwood thanked organizers on social media for allowing her to be a part of the event.

“What an incredible night @passion268! Thanks for letting me be a small part of it! & thanks @crowdermusic for letting me crash your set!” she wrote.

Passion likewise expressed excitement over Underwood’s performance, Tweeting, “Thanks @crowdermusic for an amazing night of music and to our special guest @carrieunderwood for joining us at Passion 2017! What at start!”

Giglio has not responded to press inquiries about the matter.

Underwood’s appearance may be viewed here as it was posted to the event’s YouTube page.

SHIRLEY CAESAR MAKES CLARIFICATION OF HER KIM BURRELL COMMENTS (WATCH)

02:58    No comments

*After receiving a lot of heat after she seemingly endorsed what Kim Burrell said about gays/LGBT, gospel singer and pastor, Shirley Caesar is making a strong attempt to clarify what she said and meant.
Earlier this week, a video of Pastor Caesar at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden hit the net with her saying, “You (Kim Burrell) should’ve said something four years ago when our President made that stuff alright!” — among other things.
The help get the heat off of her, Caesar sat down with Bishop George Bloomer to address the controversy.
She tells Bishop Bloomer:
“Actually, what I was saying, Bishop, is ‘why now?’ Why break up your life now? Why wait ’till now to be bothered with something like this? My thing is that — that was then, this is now. Let’s go forward now with our lives. I want to say not only to their community, but to every church community, let’s go on without lives now. Time is too short. Eternity’s too long. We don’t have time for a bunch of foolishness. It’s a trick of the enemy to come, to steal, and to kill your intention and influence.”
She continued:
“I would never say anything to harm anybody. The Lord has been too good to me. I just don’t have time for that.”
At the end of the day, Shirley Caesar adds that she’s in her ‘4th quarter’ of life and just wants everyone to put ‘that stuff’ behind us.

Will There Be Sex In Heaven? Will there be sex in heaven? What does the Bible say about this?

04:04    No comments

Will There Be Sex In Heaven?
Will there be sex in heaven? What does the Bible say about this?

We Will Be Like the Angels

Jesus said that after we enter into the kingdom, we’ll be like the angels of God; but He did not say we will become angels of God. Angels have been around a lot longer than humans (Job 38:4-7). When Jesus was asked about irreconcilable differences for a woman who had married seven different brothers because of their subsequent deaths, they were trying to test Jesus and asked Him, “Whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife” (Mark 12:23). We should note that the Sadducees didn’t believe in miracles, angels, or even the afterlife; so they wanted to trap Jesus into answering an irrelevant question. They wanted to know which brother she would be the wife of (Mark 12:18-23). Jesus corrected them by saying, “For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven” (Mark 12:25). We will be like the angels in the sense that we can’t marry or bear children anymore. Obviously, angels can’t have sex anyway because they were created by God and they are eternal; therefore, they have no need to have children.

Eternal Bodies

What believers will experience after death, or at Jesus’ return, is that they will have both a physical and spiritual body. Both will be completely incorrupt (1 Corinthians 15), meaning it’s the end of death (Revelation 21:4). We will neither marry nor be given in marriage, but this doesn’t mean we become angels at Jesus’ return or after death. We are never told we will be angels, only that we will be like them in the sense of no marriage or children (and, obviously, no more sex). We will have eternal life in a body that cannot die, become diseased, or even be injured, just like the angels. We will be like the angels but not angels; and since angels cannot be killed because they are spirit beings, neither will we face the threat of death anymore. Those things have all passed away by then (Revelation 21:4), so being like something is not the same thing as being that something. Paul asks the Corinthians, “Do you not know that we are to judge angels”(1 Corinthians 6:3a), showing that we are not going to become angels but will be like them by having a spirit body and eternal life.

We Will Be Like Him

The Apostle John gives us a clue about what we’ll be like after death or at Jesus’ return in writing, “Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure” (1 John 3:2-3). John also wrote,“To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12), “who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:13). The children of God should look like their Father; and if we’ve seen Jesus, we’ve seen the Father (John 14:9). We know from the Mount of Transfiguration that Jesus’ Shekinah glory is the very glory of God because Jesus is God! He was revealed to John along with James and Peter that day. And who wouldn’t fall on their face at the sight of that? Even though we are not going to have the full glory of God as Jesus does, we will be like Him (to a point, that is) (1 John 3:2).

The Kingdom

If we are alive at Christ’s coming, then we will not so much enter into heaven; rather, heaven comes down to us, as we read in Revelation 21:1-3 where John “saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.’” The bride of Christ is the church, and the Bridegroom is Jesus Christ. When we see what the kingdom will be like (Revelation 21, 22), we should realize that the greatest joy of all won’t be sex–it will be the glory of and basking in the presence of God, as“God himself will be with them as their God” (Revelation 21:3), and “they will see his face”(Revelation 22:4). Won’t that be reward enough? Isn’t love greater than sex? Isn’t entering into the joy of the Lord at His return the greatest pleasure?

Conclusion

I have actually heard from more than one Christian that if there’s no sex in heaven, they wouldn’t want to go there. How tragic, because if you don’t go to heaven, there is only one other place to go (Revelation 21:8). I fear these believers are so wrapped up in this world and its pleasures that they’ve not really understood Jesus’ words that “there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:12). Many single Christians have done this. What a hard road, but they strive to fulfill the two greatest commandments of all, and in this order: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27). Our highest priority should be to love God and obey Him, and we obey Him because we love Him. But we are also to love our neighbor. My friends, heaven’s infinitely greater than any physical act we could ever do, including sex. The Bible never explicitly says there will be no sex in heaven; but I believe that even if there were, it’d be so down on our list of priorities that it would have lost its significance in our lives.

Dangote’s encounter with Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa

03:45    No comments

Aliko Dangote was born into a wealthy home in Kano. He got his first degree in Cairo, Egypt. He had always loved trading , and reports say he hawked sweets even as a primary school child , even though his family was wealthy. Dangote is really a very humble person even by the confessions of people who have interacted with him.
But Dangote is not the only hardworking Nigerian. He is not the only humble person around . He is probably not the most business savvy in Africa. But he is certainly the richest Blackman in the world . His companies employ over 11 , 000 people directly – not to mention , distributors, contractors and other vendors who depend on his businesses to thrive . Dangote is a blessing to humanity.
There is no family in Nigeria today that does not have a Dangote product in their home. If it is not sugar, then it is salt or the house you are living in was built with a Dangote Cement . Everyone has something to do with his business , so like Job he earns a little off everyone and that is the way to get wealthy.
Dangote is the 23 rd richest person in the world and is said to be the second most powerful African alive . The question is how did Dangote attain such a height ? Yes, you can’ t take away his hard work and business acumen, but that is only the starting point. The answer will not be found in the Forbes Magazine or on Wikipedia. The answer is in the verse of scripture quoted above : If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land .
Sometime in the early 90 s Dangote had an encounter that set his foot on the path of destiny. Archbishop Benson Idahosa had some guests who needed to travel back urgently from Benin to Lagos to catch up their flight to the US . Unfortunately by the time the Archbishop took his guests to the airport they were told that the last flight for the day was overbooked and not a single seat was available. As a matter of fact , the passengers have boarded and were about to take off. Idahosa asked for the plane to be delayed a few minutes and walked to the tarmac where he was allowed to address the passengers. He pleaded with them about the desperate situation of his guests and asked that two persons should donate their seats for his guests to get to Lagos .
Everyone in that plane was a Christian . Not one of them batted an eyelid. Some pretended to be asleep, some pretended to be praying and the man of God stood waiting . From the back of the plane , a young man asked the person sitting next to him to get up and together they vacated their seat for the American visitors. Idahosa stopped him in the aisle of the plane and asked , “ Youngman , what is your name and what do you do ?” “ My name is Dangote , Aliko Dangote and this is my assistant . I am a trader, a businessman .”
It was there and then, that  Idahosa prophesied to him that “ the World will get up for you”. He prayed that God should take his business beyond Africa and bless him beyond measure . Today we see that prophesy manifesting . God destined that blessing for someone seated in that plane that evening. But there was a condition attached to it – Isa 1 :19 If you will only let me help you, if you will only obey , then I will make you rich! Dangote ’ s wealth today was not meant for a Christian businessman who was too proud, too fixated in his mind to offer the “ flamboyant man of God” , the “ prosperity preacher” his seat .

4 Warning Signs You Are Drifting From God

Here are four warning signs that you may be drifting away from God.

Prayerlessness

When you least feel like praying is the exact moment you need to. In other words, when you don’t feel like praying anymore, you are drifting further and further from God. God hasn’t moved; we have! We need to move back toward God, but the quickest way to get back to Him is on our knees. Pray when you don’t feel like it because that’s a signal you need to

Famine of the Word

The Prophet Amos wrote about a famine of the Word:“’Behold, the days are coming,’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD’” (Amos 8:11). That famine has hit our country and the world, but please don’t let it hit you. When you drift away from the Bread of Life, which is the Living Word of God, then you are losing your greatest source of God’s nourishment. When you stop reading the Bible, stop and read it. At the time you feel least like reading the Bible is the exact time you need to!

Returning to the Vomit

I know this sounds terribly harsh, but the Proverb warns about this (Proverbs 26:11). And so does the Apostle Peter in quoting Solomon: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire” (2 Peter 2:22). The context of this is a falling away, not drifting away from God. So if you find yourself falling back into the same old sins you had stopped doing, that’s a true sign you’re moving away from God. Pray for the help to resist temptation and surrender to Him because we can’t fight this on our own.                                                                                               Solitary Life
When you are cut off from the Body of Christ and other Christians, you are isolating yourself from the fellowship, relationships, and prayers of the saints. We can’t walk with Christ alone in life; we need one another. And since the New Testament has dozens of “one another’s,” we are not to be separated from the Body of Christ. There are many members, but the Body functions best when all the parts are there. When you begin to isolate yourself, then you are surely drifting away from God.

Conclusion

When you have extended periods of prayerlessness, no Bible reading, returning to old sins, and living the Christian life by yourself, please take these symptoms seriously that you are drifting away from God. Remember the Prodigal Son? His father was watching the horizon and waiting for his son to return (repent), and then he spotted him a long way off and ran out to greet, kiss, and embrace him. That’s the Father’s desire for you if you have drifted away.
